The sire or grandsire of all of our ponies, Theodore was a stakes-placed, allowance winner and has sired of over 300 show and pleasure horses found throughout the United States. Why did we base our program on this stallion?
Because he had the traits which European breeders have selected for years in the Thoroughbred stallions they have used to produce the modern warmblood: a short back; a long, elegant topline; full, powerful quarters; well-articulated and expressive movement; a huge stride and moderately heavy bone.
Teddy's get include upper level dressage horses, Medal Maclay equitation horses, money-winning jumpers, trophy-retiring breeding division winners, endurance and driving horses/ponies, an upper level event horse and a slew of hunter horses and ponies, including a national champion.
Meanwhile, Teddy's blood continues to produce outstanding competitors in many disciplines. His grandsons "Caleb" and "Cory" (by the deceased stallion Theoretical) have earned championships in the pony hunter division. His grandchildren Picabo Street and Ciderhouse Jack have been successful in 50-mile endurance competitions and horse trials.
