| Yet Another Karacter Registered Half Welsh Sire: Land's End The Colonel Fox Dam: Chelsea (aka Esker Electra). dam of USEF National Champion "I Don't Know" and numerous other winners in pony hunters. |
| YET ANOTHER KARACTER (aka Crossley because of the cross on his nose) is not only the half-brother to AHSA (USEF) National Champion "I Don't Know," but also half-brother to the once-well-known small pony hunter "Karacter," ridden with great success by Evan Coluccio in the mid-nineties, as well as the solid Children's hunter "Out of Character". Their dam has also produced a ribbon winner at the indoors, a state champion and WEF winners, plus she is granddam to a even more successful ponies, including Pan Am gold medalist Theodore O'Connor. What is Crossley like to ride? At the mere of age three, Crossley is an extremely quiet pony who is inclined to be somewhat pokey. He is not a kick-along--he responds quickly and readily to even the lightest leg. However, left to his own devices, Crossley prefers slow over fast, deliberate over exhuberant, and eat over work. What has Crossley done under saddle? Crossley is solid wak, trot and canter under saddle. He is currently being ridden by an experienced adult amateur, but was actually broke to ride by--believe it or not--a TIMID, teenie-tiny 11-year-old boy who not only rode him at the walk unassisted, but also--before actually riding him--ground drove him around the roads, sometimes without any supervision at all! Crossley will be ideal for that type of child. Crossley is also jumping small courses, but he has done very little trail riding. He has a natural auto-swap, but no schooling yet. Is Crossley easy for kids to handle? Crossley loads, clips, trims, crossties and does all other routine types of things with aplomb. He is safe and sensible with even the tiniest of tots playing around him. What will Crossley do in the future? Crossley appears to be maturing comfortably to the top of the small pony hunter division height limit. His 13.0h sire is known for throwing small, while his dam stood 11.3h. Crossley attended his first show in September and accepted the busy atmosphere with no complaints. He schooled nicely but was not entered in any classes. |
